J. Edgar Hoover—again. Spidery webs of lines, leaden eyelids, strange curl to the lips. This guy creeps me out. I was raised to believe in his story though, defender of good, he captured Alvin Karpis, started the F.B.I. But made no bones about using any information he got on political enemies to try and destroy them. Almost relished calling RFK to tell him JFK had been shot.
